Gulf War Syndrome
Mary Christine,
MSW, holds a Master of Social Work degree as well as a BA in
Psychology with a minor in Human Biology. Christine got CFS (Chronic
Fatigue Syndrome) in October of 1990 after having mycoplasmic
pneumonia and was quite debilitated for about a year. Her strength
and endurance slowly improved with rest etc. over time. She had
been functioning very well for the past few years and until recently
she was working as a therapist for adolescents. However, Christine
recently had a relapse after having a cough, a high fever for
four days, and a sinus infection. Christine bought a new car
about two and a half weeks before having the relapse. She has
recently learned that the chemicals found in new cars such as
formaldehyde can cause people with CFS and people testing positive
for the mycoplasma infection described in this article to become
ill with a high fever, cough, etc. and can trigger the onset
of or a relapse of CFS. Adverse reactions to chemicals has been
termed multiple chemical sensitivity or environmental allergies.
Since having the relapse Christine has experienced MCS in response
to paint fumes. Also, since having the relapse she has been unable
to work due to not being able to walk very far. However, she
has been researching the relationship between CFS and Gulf War
Syndrome.
Christine reports that current research which allegedly the U.S.
government is attempting to destroy is showing that CFS and Gulf
War Syndrome (GWS) are caused by chronic infectious agents which
have long incubation periods ranging from months to years. The
chronic infections can result in increased sensitivity to chemicals.
However, at least in the vast majority of cases, exposure to chemicals
alone is not the cause of Gulf War Syndrome (or CFS) as some propose.
In this article Christine shows how the United States Government
with collaborators outside and within the country being directed
by those above the White House with the power and money who control
much of what goes on in this country and the world, including much
of the research that goes on in universities, is controlling population
growth and attempting to decrease the world population through
abusive, oppressive means with no regard for human life. Specifically,
she discusses Gulf War Syndrome and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as
illnesses created by the U.S. Government. She refers to an official
government document, the 1969 hearings before the Subcommittee
of the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives
(91st Congress) which were held to determine the appropriation
of funds for the Department of Defense for 1970. The appropriations
were passed in 1970. On June 9, 1969, Dr. Donald M. MacArthur,
Deputy Director of Defense Research and Engineering in the Office
of the Secretary of Defense, testified before Congress on U.S.
involvement regarding chemical and biological warfare. Excerpts
from this testimony are included below. Many think this testimony
was calling for the creation of AIDS.
Christine notes
that Dr. Leonard Horowitz and Dr. Alan Cantwell have documented
that our country has a long history of biological warfare research.
She says that although few Americans are aware even vaguely aware
of it, the U.S. Army has a Biological and Chemical Warfare Department,
located at Fort Detrick, Maryland. In the late 60's Nixon renounced
germ warfare, except for "medical defensive research". This "defensive" research
continues and primarily centers around vaccine development and
genetic engineering of infectious agents capable of infecting
large masses of people. On December 23, 1971 Nixon signed the
National Cancer Act, officially beginning the so-called War on
Cancer. Also in 1971, a large part of the army's biological warfare
unit was transferred to the National Cancer Institute (NCI) under
orders from President Nixon. As Christine reports, many books
have been written on the creation of AIDS. Christine encourages
all readers to obtain and read a book by Dr. Leonard Horowitz, Emerging Viruses: Aids & Ebola,
Nature Accident, or Intentional?, which was recently released.
She says this is a very important book and that it can be ordered
through major bookstores or by calling, toll free, 1-800-336-9266.
Also you can call this number to ask questions and find out how
to organize political action events. She also says very important
information can be obtained through Dr. Horowitz's Web Site Tetrahedron,
LLC.Org including information on the creating of the AIDS virus
as well as the full text of a paper presented on this topic by
Dr. Horowitz, Dr. Robert Strecker, Dr. Alan Cantwell, and two
other authors (D. Vid, and G. Grossman) at the XI International
Conference on AIDS.
Other information
which can be downloaded from this web site includes a chapter
by chapter summary of the book and information on the key players,
economically and scientifically, in what Horowitz feels could
be intentional efforts to create illnesses. This web site also
contains information on the role of the Rockefeller family in
this topic and information on population control as well as the
role of the CIA and the Nazi roots of the CIA. Descriptions of
presentations Dr. Horowitz gives and a calendar of his speaking
engagements is also provided. One of the descriptions states, "This
program was developed to help health professionals make more
informed decisions about prevention, patient education, and treatment
options for a host of modern infectious immunodeficiency diseases.
Dr. Horowitz presents a frank and fascinating thesis on the political
and public health implications of mass immunization practices,
their true risks versus benefits, and how viral vaccine contaminants
might be linked to our modern and coming plagues including AIDS,
Ebola, chronic fatigue, Gulf-War syndrome, certain cancers, and
others." In another presentation description Horowitz states, "Not
so long ago I considered myself a lifelong liberal Democrat...I
now see that Democrats and Republicans are not so opposite faces
on the same corrupt coin. I learned that the principle purpose
of focusing attention on `child abuse' and the `failed family
institution,' was not to solve our nations woes, but to persuade
the public to accept a covert social/political agenda which has
been unfolding for over two decades. Its aim? To reform America's
social welfare, criminal justice and health care systems to consolidate
control and distribute vast wealth among a core group of policy
makers: the multinational power and financial elite. Bigger government,
more taxes, less constitutional rights, and more Gestapo agents
will not solve our social and financial woes. The `failed family'
is mostly a symptom of dehumanizing government programs and increased
tax burdens which have made it progressively more difficult for
two parent families to spend quality time together while improving
their standard of living."
Christine says that
the first purpose of these articles is to provide information
to sick Gulf War vets or others who have caught Gulf War Syndrome
as well as those who are suffering from what the government (the
CDC) has termed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Christine says that
in addition to the scientific facts (which have been published
in respected medical journals) to be reported on (mainly the
research of Dr. Garth Nicolson and Dr. Nancy Nicolson) it is
important that readers are informed of the larger factors which
have led to the intentional creation and use of biological warfare.
She says that understanding issues such as population control
and goals towards a "New World Order" or one world government
with its aim as Horowitz puts it to, "consolidate and distribute
vast wealth among a core group" are essential to understanding
why well respected doctors and scientists are alleging that the
AIDS virus is man-made and may have intentionally been transmitted
to gay men in New York and Africans in Central Africa in vaccines
as well as to understanding why the Nicolson doctors are finding
an infectious microorganism with the HIV-1 envelope gene inserted
into it (which they say could not have occurred in nature) in
about half the Gulf War vets they have tested who have symptoms
consistent with CFS and in some CFS patients with no relationship
to the Gulf War and why in regard to the vets the Nicolsons write, "we
consider the most likely sources of potential chronic infectious
agents to be the vaccines and Iraqi offensive CBW weapons". Christine
says that although terms such as `New World Order' are sometimes
associated with `extreme right wing' thinking she, like Horowitz,
has always considered herself to be fairly liberal, politically.
Christine also points out that the rapper, Dr. Dre, who is popular
with many rap fans, has a CD that will be released into the stores
on November 26 titled, "Dr. Dre Presents...the Aftermath". She
says Dre has already performed a song "Been there...Done that" on
Saturday Night Live in which he sings that, "money is the root
of all evil

says Dre has already performed a song "Been there...Done that" on
Saturday Night Live in which he sings that, "money is the root
of all evil" and in which he refers to "Rockefeller" and the "Illuminati".
She says that Dre's video for this as well as another song on
the same CD, "Group Therapy", in which a woman's voice announces "This
is the New World Order" and says there will be no more constitutional
rights have recently appeared on MTV. Christine says she has
always felt and continues to feel strongly that all individuals
and all groups in society should have equal access to self-empowerment
and that conditions in society should be such that individuals,
groups, and families have the freedom to live up to their ultimate
potentials. She says that she has found out that in many ways
people in this country and the world are being oppressed and
held back from reaching their potentials through efforts by those
in the highest positions of power who desire the `masses' to
be dependent upon them. She says, ironically, often their oppressive
actions and efforts to increase dependency are disguised as empowering,
progressive social programs. Christine says just one example
is mass vaccination campaigns. Christine says that by reading
and understanding Horowitz's book as well as this article readers
will realize why the United States government is trying to destroy
the research of Dr. Garth Nicolson and Dr. Nancy Nicolson and
why it is not the agenda of the United States government to solve
the `mystery' of the `mystery diseases'...Gulf War Syndrome and
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and why this country can not trust the
CIA to get to the bottom of the allegations that the CIA was
complicit in causing urban America's slow death by crack cocaine
which has been destructive to the lives of countless Americans
and disproportionally to African-Americans. Christine says that
given the role the current CIA director John Deutch has played
in perpetrating the crimes of "Gulf War Gate" and the cover-up
of Gulf War Syndrome it is illogical to think he can be trusted
to direct a CIA internal investigation regarding the allegations
that the agency has played a role in promoting the crack trade
and epidemic in this country. Christine says that although the
majority of the United States citizens and the people of the
world don't realize it the "behind the scenes rulers" of this
country and the world have employed pure genius in working to
achieve their agenda which is the exact opposite of what is portrayed
to the people of this country and the world as the goals of the
United States government. She says their goal is to maximize
their power, control, and wealth at the expense of the power,
control, health, wealth, and freedom of the people or the "masses".
She adds that these "multinational power and financial elite" have
brilliantly used differences among people to incite hate and
blame for societal conditions and problems which they have created
and promoted. She says that the same ones who have created the
various crises then develop and creatively market "solutions" to
these created crises which then serve to further their goals.
Christine notes that the pure genius they employ is pure evil.
Christine also notes that as people educate themselves and others
regarding the true agenda of the "multinational power and financial
elite" these elitists will lose power. She points out a quote
used by Horowitz in the front of his book, "To do evil a human
being must first of all believe what he is doing is good....Ideology---that
is what gives devil doing its long-sought justification and gives
the devil doer the necessary steadfastness and determination.
That is the social theory which helps to make his acts seem good
instead of bad in his own and others' eyes, so that he won't
hear reproaches and curses but will receive praise and honors.
--Russian dissident Alexander Solzhenitsyn". Christine says that
it is often those who are most victimized by these intentionally
created crises that are then effectively, although sometimes
indirectly, scapegoated as the cause of their problem. She says,
though, the problem is only publicly portrayed as a real problem
and concern until time and conditions have allowed it to affect
people falling outside of the group that was initially targeted
to suffer the crisis. Christine says that the purpose of dividing
the people and inciting hate and blame is to create chaos and
confusion and to divert attention away from fighting the common
often unseen and unknown enemy of freedom, health, and happiness...the
extremely wealthy and powerful international elite. Christine
adds that this tactic is extremely powerful and effective and
although it is often overlooked to the detriment of those fighting
for freedom it should never be underestimated. Christine believes
if this tactic could be deactivated those who rule the world
with their money and power from behind the scenes in a very oppressive
manner with no respect for human life or human rights would lose
considerable power and control. However, she points out that
these elitists prey on our tendencies to fear people who are
different or unfamiliar to us and through this tactic alone are
able to amass tremendous power and control.
Christine says that
more and more Americans are becoming aware of Gulf War Syndrome
and alleged government cover-ups regarding GWS. For example,
she refers to an October 30, 1996 Chicago Tribune article titled, "Gulf
war illness cover-up is alleged, Analysts: CIA knew of 60 chemical
arms incidents", which reports that two CIA intelligence analysts,
husband and wife, Patrick and Robin Eddington, who resigned from
the CIA this year, "say the agency possesses dozens of classified
documents showing that tens of thousands of Americans may have
been exposed to Iraqi chemical weapons during the Persian Gulf
war in 1991." The article reports that, "they say that, when
they insisted on pursuing the inquiry over the protests of senior
officials, their promising careers were effectively destroyed." It
is reported that, "After the war, Eddington said, he collected
59 classified intelligence reports from agency files and computer
banks that provided 'very, very specific' information about the
presence of chemical weapons in southern Iraq and Kuwait during
the war." It is reported that the Eddington's say they, "turned
up evidence of as many as 60 incidents in which nerve gas and
other chemical weapons were released in the vicinity of the troops." The
Tribune further reports that, "Eddington, 33, who is preparing
to publish a book outling his allegations against the CIA, said
government officials who had overseen investigations of gulf
war illnesses 'have lied, are continuing to lie, are continuing
to withhold information'." Christine says that the government
cover-up involves covering up not only chemical weapon exposures,
but exposures to biological weapons.
Discussions regarding
efforts to control and limit population growth through abortion,
environmental issues, etc. occur. However, discussions of efforts
by the United States government in collaboration with foreign
governments to decrease the population through created illnesses
are rare and do not occur in the major/controlled/mainstream
media of this country. Many readers will find these revelations
depressing at best: U.S. officials involved with the1991 Gulf
War have allegedly committed treason--exposing at least half
a million Desert Stormers to a germ-warfare agent that U.S. scientists
created, violating U.S. laws and international treaties, but
that the Department of Defense denies. Because the illness is
contagious it is not only veterans but their family members and
the public who are at risk. The good news is that when diagnosed
and treated in a timely fashion many have found that an inexpensive
antibiotic eases their symptoms. On a larger scale, ample evidence
exists to expose and punish the perpetrators of this horrific
and abusive covert operation against American Veterans and the
American people as a whole. Exposed, the truth of the acts and
actors behind the Gulf War Illness may serve to wake up America
to the plans for the so-called New World Order or One World Government.
On August 12, 1996
the St. Louis Post-Dispatch ran an article written in Washington
and provided to the Post by the New York Times News Service titled, "War
Veterans Claim Iraqi Chemical Arms Affected Their Health". The
article opens with, "After years of Pentagon denials, a group
of veterans of the Persian Gulf War is offering the first compelling
evidence that American troops were exposed to Iraqi chemical
weapons." It continues, "The soldiers and former soldiers were
members of the Army's 37th Engineer Battalion. And unlike thousands
of other Americans who have complained that they suffer from
ailments collectively described as Gulf War syndrome, the men
of the 37th can pinpoint the time and place that they believe
they were exposed to chemical weapons: 2:02 p.m. on March 4,
1991, when the battalion blew up 33 Iraqi bunkers in the southern
Iraqi desert." It is stated that, "The Pentagon acknowledged
this summer that one of the concrete bunkers probably contained
sarin, a deadly nerve agent, and mustard gas, a blister agent
that can burn flesh." It is reported that, "Defense Department
officials say their initial review of the medical records of
the battalion offers no evidence of an unusual pattern of health
problems among these soldiers. While it concedes that chemical
weapons were probably at the arsenal, the Pentagon has said that
it still has no clinical evidence that the soldiers were exposed." The
article reports that the story of the veterans of the 37th is
different and that, "In interviews with 37 of the nearly 150
battalion members who were reported in the vicinity of the arsenal
at the time of the explosion, 27 said they had suffered serious
health problems since the war. Their ailments, they said, include
mysterious infections and rashes, serious gastrointestinal problems,
fierce headaches and constant fatigue." Christian Tullius, 28,
a veteran of the 37th from Copperas Cove, Texas, is quoted, "We
were paratroopers -- elite troops, in great shape -- and now
we're all sick as dogs." The article reports that, "60,000 Persian
Gulf War Veterans have asked for special government health screenings
to determine if they suffer from ailments related to the war." Concluding
statements are made, "The accounts given by members of the 37th,
however, have raised concerns about the credibility of the Defense
Department, which until recently insisted it had no evidence
that Americans might have been exposed to Iraqi chemical or biological
weapons. There is the possibility that tens of thousands of other
soldiers downwind from the explosion were exposed as well."
On August 15, 1996
the Post-Dispatch ran an article, "Wives of 3 Gulf War Veterans
Sue U.S." which reported that, "Exposure to 'unreasonably dangerous'
toxic chemicals during the war and immunizations the armed forces
gave the men caused their babies to be born with Goldenhar's
Syndrome which causes severe deformities often involving the
respiratory and digestive systems and a distortion of facial
features, the suit says." Nancy Nicolson, Ph.D., to be introduced
below, says that not all affected veterans' babies have been
born with Goldenhar's Syndrome. She says some have been born
with symptoms reminiscent of CFS. She says that exposure to "depleted
uranium" in addition to other battlefield insults including chemical
and biological exposures may explain this rare birth defect syndrome
(Goldenhar's Syndrome). She stresses that one must understand
that Operation Desert Storm and the so-called tactical and strategic
aspects of the Gulf War were contingent upon Soviet War Doctrine
which is the use of multiple unconventional biological as well
as chemical agents juxtaposed to conventional weaponry.
Don McAlvany devoted
his August issue of, "The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor", a monthly
analysis of global economic, monetary, and geo-political trends
which impact gold and precious metal markets, to a "Special Report
Germ Warfare Against America: The Desert Storm Plague and Cover-up".
In this report McAlvany cites a 9/6/95 Los Angeles Times article
titled, "Iraq discloses Deadly Biological Arsenal--Many Germs
Designed to Maim, Not Kill," which reported, "Breaking with years
of denial about biological weapons, Iraq admitted to concocting
one of the most extensive arsenals in history, in many cases
intended to maim and not kill," and that, "The arsenal was designed
to be as ruinous to civilians as it would to be to the troops,
the Times sources said."
Joyce Riley, RN,
captain of the air force reserve (on inactive reserve) and a
flight evacuation nurse during Desert Storm, has been working
to get the truth to the American people regarding Gulf War Syndrome.
As Riley has remarked, it's too bad CNN didn't want to do the
job for you. Riley reports that the Gulf War veterans have had
to start a registry in Florida just for the babies that are being
born deformed to the veterans. Riley, performing active duty
missions within the U.S. was vaccinated and inoculated in preparation
for transport to the Persian Gulf. (The cease-fire occurred the
week she was to receive her orders.) She later contracted Gulf
War Illness symptoms apparently from the vaccinations and inoculations.
She developed an infection of the central nervous system and
later mycoplasmic pneumonia. She found that the government would
neither acknowledged that her symptoms might relate to her tour
of duty nor provide her with treatment. According to Riley, 50,000
to 100,000 Gulf War veterans (and in some cases family members)
are sick and 15,000 Gulf War veterans have died due to illness
associated with service in the Gulf War. McAlvany reports that
according to data obtained from the Veterans Administration the
active duty tumor rate in the U.S. military has increased 600%
since 1990 and that this data is available from Joyce Riley.
According to Dr. Garth and Dr. Nancy Nicolson, to be introduced
below, there are now more babies being born deformed or with
birth defects in Iraq than are being born normal. The Nicolsons
also report that 20% to 25% of the population of the countries
surrounding the theater of operations are sick. McAlvany reports
that a 5/22/91 New York Times article titled, "Health Crisis
Said to Grip Iraq in Wake of War's Destruction" reported, "Child
Mortality soared in the first four months of `91, up 55,000 over
the same period in 1990. Dr. Harvey Fineburg of the Harvard School
of Public Health estimated, based on data he reviewed, that child
mortality in Iraq increased by 170,000 in 1991." McAlvany also
writes, "The Wall Street journal has quoted U.N. sources saying
that 56,000 Iraqi children have died since the war ended in 1991.
If true, then the Nicolsons' estimates are way too low." Riley
believes that the Gulf War was simply an experiment of germ warfare.
She says she was never very involved in politics prior to the
war and that she never would have believed this but that it is
all true. Riley asks if the war was an effort to decrease the
world population. Riley also says a purpose of the war was to
weaken our military. Many members of the military are no longer
able to work due to being ill. McAlvany writes that according
to Life magazine, November, 1995, "Ironically, much of Iraq's
chemical arsenal was made by U.S. companies -- 80 of which face
a class action law suit by 2,000 ailing vets." McAlvany quotes
Vladimir Lenin, "American capitalists will do anything to make
a profit. They will even sell us the rope with which we will
hang them."
Suspicions that
the Gulf War was an effort to decrease the world population are
not unfounded. Currently, covert, oppressive, and abusive techniques
are being employed to decrease population growth and to depopulate.
This is an international effort being led in large part by U.S.
Government and private agencies and organizations. An article
appeared in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on 9/12/96. It was titled, "Scientist
sees Downsized Human Race". Volland wrote, "Environmental scientist
Edward O. Wilson, whose study of aunts won a Pulitzer Prize in
1991, would like to see more of them in the world and fewer humans.
The mild-mannered Harvard University professor and entomologist
said at Washington University Wednesday that the human population
should drop eventually to `the hundreds of millions' for a true
ecological balance. It's about 5.7 billion now." Volland wrote
that in regard to Wilson, "A single global policy on population
is unfeasible, he said. But efforts are under way in this and
other populous nations to achieve zero population growth and
even depopulation, he said."
On 4/22/77 the St.
Louis Post-Dispatch ran an article by Paul Wagman of the Post
titled, "U.S. Goal: Sterilize Millions of World's Women". Wagman
wrote, "The United States is seeking to provide the means by
which one quarter of the sterile women in the world can be voluntarily
sterilized, the director of the Federal Government's Office of
Population said here yesterday. As many as 100,000 women around
the world might be sterilized if these goals are met, Dr. R.T.
Ravenholt, the director, said. One of the programs that the U.S.
is using in trying to reach this goal, Dr. Ravenholt said, is
a federally financed training program for foreign doctors at
Washington University Medical School. The main purpose of the
program is to train doctors in `advanced fertility management
techniques', Dr. Ravenholt said. John Hopkins University in Baltimore
also participated in the program called PIEGO (Program for International
Education in Gynecology and Obstetrics). Dr. Ravenholt made his
remarks during an interview at the Chase-Park Plaza Hotel. He
was in St. Louis to attend the annual meeting of the Population
Association of America." Wagman reported that, "Dr. Ravenholt
expressed concern about criticism leveled at PIEGO during the
last year by a small group of Washington University students,
faculty and staff members. The group has attacked PIEGO on political
grounds and has called for Washington University to end its involvement
in the program. Among the critics are: Garland Allen, associate
professor of biology; Miriam Golomb, a post-doctoral fellow in
biochemistry, and Andrew Goodman, a second year medical student." Wagman
wrote further that, "Dr. Ravenholt gave credence to one of the
arguments made by the critics - that PIEGO is basically a training
program in female fertilization. Washington University officials
have denied this." Wagman then wrote, "PIEGO is one of several
programs sponsored by the U.S. Office of Population to control
growth abroad, Dr. Ravenholt said. The Office of Population is
part of the U.S. Agency for International Development (AID),
an arm of the Department of State. About 30 countries have bilateral
agreements with the U.S. Government to provide population control
programs, Dr. Ravenholt said. `This is our preferred route,'
he commented. In some countries, however, `political sensitivity'
makes it impossible for the U.S. to negotiate such agreements.
In those cases, he said, efforts are made to set up population
programs under the aegis of other organizations, such as the
United Nations Fund for Population Activities and the International
Planned Parenthood Federation. Both groups receive heavy U.S.
funding, he said." Wagman concludes the article with, "Dr. James
C. Warren, co-director of the PIEGO program at Washington University," told
the "Post-Dispatch that about 70 foreign doctors are being trained
at the university this year. Altogether, more than 200 students
have been enrolled here since 1973, he said." Wagman concludes
the article saying that critics of the program say they have
documents that show that PIEGO will have paid Washington University
over two million dollars for its services by the end of 1977.
In the November-December
1995 issue of Celebrate Life an article by Suzanne M. Rini appeared
titled, "Open Season on Humanity: Abortion, Contraception, Sterilization,
and the Coming Era of Coercion," Rini wrote that, "In April 1995
the Institute of Medicine, an important adjunct to the Rockefellor
founded National Research Council, published a study, `The Best
intentions: Unintended Pregnancy and the Well-Being of Children
and Families,' funded by several long-time eugenics links--the
U.S. Public Health Service, the Carnegie Corporation, the Robert
Wood Johnson Foundation--and a new player, the Annie E. Casey
foundation. `The Best Intentions' is a carefully wrought propaganda
campaign to induce Americans to chose `long-term contraception,'
including Norplant, Depo-Provera, new brass IUD's, abortifacient
vaccines that cause `immunological sterilization,' and someday,
bizarre male and female contraceptives. Rini also reported that, "Anti-fertility
vaccines have long been liked to coercive reproductive social
policy. In 1971, in The Case for Cumpulsory Birth control, Edgar
R. Chasteen, then a national board member of Zero Population
Growth and a board member of Planned Parenthood of Greater Kansas
City, predicted:
`Assuming that
we could soon have a vaccine to immunize against fertility, it
would then be possible to inoculate all children. Unlike the
smallpox vaccine which furnishes lifelong protection, however,
the anti-fertility vaccine would be reversible. Following marriage,
fertility could be temporarily restored by another shot. After
the permitted number of births, permanent immunity to fertility
could be re-established.'"' Rini continued, "A 1978 meeting at
Rockefellor University, suggested vaccines as a `beyond the pill'
strategy. This solution would eventually put teeth in Dr. Allan
C. Barne's 1973 (when he was head of the Rockefeller Foundation)
dictum: `Death Control without birth control is pure folly'.
In the 1970's a consortium was formed to develop the vaccines
and other new long-term contraceptives that would help cut the
live-birth rate in half (the stated goal of the global population
control machine). The consortium comprised:
-The World Health
Organization, the Population Council (funded by eugenicists such
as the Andrew Mellon Foundation, the Dodge and Rockefeller
Foundations, USAID and the National Institutes of
Health).
-The National Institute
of Immunology in New Delhi, India, funded in part by the Rockefeller
Foundation.
-CONRAD (the Contraceptive
Research and Development Program) at Eastern Virginia Medical
School in Norfolk. Their focus is "anti-sperm" contraceptives
designed to prevent fertilization.
-The taxpayer-funded
National Institute of Child Health and Development, especially
its Contraceptive Research and Development Branch
in the Center for Population Research
The vaccines
they developed are abortifacient. Furthermore, the woman's auto-immune
system must be suppressed for the destroying antibodies to move
in and prevent fertilization or implantation. Some scientists
have said that immunizing women against their own babies could
unleash new auto-immune diseases. These `anti-fertility vaccines'
are in Phase III trials in the Philippines and Mexico, where
they have been combined with tetanus immunizations given to women
and pre-pubertal girls without their understanding what is happening
to them." Rini concludes the article, "The woman vaccinated against
pregnancy will never know she was pregnant."
An article in the
6/9/95, The Irish Family, as well as an article in the 5/15/95
Communiqu‚, a bi-weekly news letter put out by the American Life
League discusses the use of these vaccines. Contact Sister Mary
Pilar Verzosa, RGS Pro-Life Philippines, Caritas Building, 2002

for more information or to offer assistance. In the The Irish
Family article, Peter Scully the Director of Human Life International
in Ireland is quoted as saying that the women victims are, "being
treated as nothing more than uninformed, unwitting, unconsenting
guinea pigs." The article states that according to Human Life
International, "the World Health Organization (WHO), the driving
force behind the vaccination campaigns, has been actively involved
for 20 years in the development of an anti-fertility vaccine
(AFV) utilizing hCG with tetanus and other carriers. Allied with
them have been the United Nations Fund for Population Activities
(UNFPA), the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the World Bank,
the Population Council, the Rockefeller Foundation of the All
India Institute of Medical Sciences and a number of universities.
The U.S. National Institute of Child Health and Human Development
of the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Md., USA was
the supplier of the hCG hormone in some of the AVF experiments." In
the July-August 1996 issue of a magazine, Health Freedom News,
an article on the same topic, Vaccination, Inc. by Paul Borraccia
appeared. The article was reprinted from Awareness Magazine,
5011 Argosy ave., #3, Hunington Beach, CA 92649. Paul's number
was given: (818) 296-2688. Borraccia writes, "In October 1994,
Human Life International (HLI), a pro-life organization based
in Gaithersburg, Maryland, received a communication from their
Mexican affiliate, Comit‚ Pro Vido de Mexico. A neonatal tetanus
vaccine drive was underway. Only women of child bearing age (15-45)
were being vaccinated. The program called for three tetanus shots
within three months -- a total of five in all. This seems extremely
unusual, considering the normal procedure for a tetanus shot
is one each ten years. This is what got the attention of the
Comit‚. They obtained samples of the vaccine and had a chemical
analysis performed. Three of the four vials contained hCG. HLI
has affiliates in over sixty countries. Similar reports of unusual
protocols regarding vaccine drives came from Nicaragua and the
Philippines -- 3.4 million women were recently vaccinated in
the Philippines." Borraccia also writes that, "Africa and Brazil
are also included in the invasive control of population. A 1991
report from the statistical branch of the Brazilian government,
revealed that one third of Brazil's women have been sterilized.
Often these women live in poverty and lack medical and legal
recourse in the event of serious adverse reaction or death. Even
if they do have the means, the link to the vaccine is consistently
denied by the so-called authorities. This is the usual case with
all vaccinations even though the components of vaccines are known
to be harmful and disease-causing. Considering the large number
of deaths occurring in these extremely impoverished areas, mostly
from malnutrition and starvation, a few thousand extra deaths
here and there induced by vaccination go unnoticed and unchallenged." Borraccia
reports that some of the universities involved are, "Uppsala,
Sweden; Helinski, Finland; and Ohio State, U.S." He writes that
some of the countries that have contributed financially are Sweden($90,000,000),
United Kingdom($52,000,000), Norway($41,000,000), Denmark($27,000,000),
Germany($12,000,000), and the United States($8,200,000). Borraccia
writes that , "In 1993, the Clinton administration made a contribution
of 2.5 million dollars." He also states that an article in the
Los Angeles Times, September 8, 1994 is titled, "Real U.S. Policy
in Third World: Sterilization" and that the subtitle reads, "Disregard
the `Empowerment' Shoe Polish -- The goal is to keep the natives
from breeding."
According to an
A&E Biography of the Rockefellers on Cable Television, in
1946 John D. Rockefellor Jr. bought and then donated land for
the new United Nations. In regard to the Rockefellor's children
the biography states that their oldest child, Abby, continued
her mother's work with the museum of modern art and became a
major funder of cancer research, the oldest son John D. III devoted
his life to the issue of population control and started the Asia
Society, Nelson became a four term governor of New York, ran
for president, and served as vice president of the United States,
Lawrence carried on his fathers conservation efforts, Winthrop
became a two term governor of Arkansas, and David became an international
statesman as well as the president of Chase Manhattan Bank. The
biography also states that John D. Rockefellor seniors' father,
William Avery, was a "small time con artist with a variety of
schemes to make money off of his countrymen including a treatment
guaranteed to cure cancer." See the book, World Without Cancer
by G. Edward Griffin which reveals, "a shocking picture of how
science has been subverted to protect entrenched commercial and
political interests." This book is currently out of print but
a new edition is due out in
December. The
edition published in 1974 shows how the Rockefeller Foundation
and the Carnegie Foundation have controlled much of the "science" that
is done in universities by making large research grants to universities
including John Hopkins University as well as by contributing
to faculty members' salaries and in some cases entirely funding
faculty members (pages 375-377). The biography on A&E also
reports that in 1865 J.D. Rockefeller went into a partnership
with an experienced oil refiner, the Englishman Samuel Andrews.
A paper on Dr. Horowitz's web site by Anton Chaitkin regarding
population control, the Rockefellers, Nazi's, and the United
Nations states that in regard to the Rockefeller Foundation, "Evidence
in the possession of a growing number of researchers in America,
England, and Germany demonstrates that the Foundation and its
corporate, medical, and political associates organized the racial
mass murder of Nazi Germany. These globalists, who function as
a conduit for British Empire geopolitics, were not stopped after
World War II. This United Nations alliance of the old Nazi right,
with the new left, poses an even graver danger to the world today
than it did in 1941." Chaitkin also writes that, "the Rockefeller
Foundation had long financed the eugenics movement in England,
apparently repaying Britain for the fact that British capital
and an English-partner had started old John D. Rockefeller out
in his oil trust."
The above information
regarding population control and anti-fertility vaccines was
provided to show that currently there is an international effort
(being led in large part by U.S. government and private agencies)
to depopulate. This operation is covert. Informed consent has
been completely disregarded. The women are told they are getting
tetanus vaccines, but the vaccines are laced with anti-fertility
agents.
According to Joyce
Riley, the Gulf War vets got 8 or 9 immunizations at a time and
were not even told what they were getting. Also according to
Riley, it seems that the Gulf War was planned in advance. She
says the Anthrax and Botulinum vaccines were prepared two years
before the war indicating that we knew what they had. McAlvany
writes that, "THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE ILLEGALLY FORCED U.S.
TROOPS TO TAKE UNAPPROVED, EXPERIMENTAL AND INVESTIGATIONAL BOTULISM
TOXOID VACCINE DURING DESERT SHIELD/DESERT STORM. That is a criminal
violation of the Nuremberg Code." Riley says that troops from
the 28 coalition countries are sick and dying except for the
French troops who did not receive any vaccinations for the war
and who took several doxycycline pills each day during the war.
As will be discussed, doxycycline is an antibiotic which has
been found to improve the health of many of the veterans who
have Gulf War Syndrome. Riley's phone rings constantly with calls
from sick veterans as well as (CFS) Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
patients. Riley is getting so many phone calls that she can't
always talk to the CFS patients and must restrict herself to
the vets. Riley tells the vets about the research being done
on Gulf War Syndrome by Garth L. Nicolson, Ph.D., and his wife,
Nancy L. Nicolson, Ph.D.
Garth Nicolson has
a Ph.D. in Cell Biology. He has been nominated for a Nobel Prize
for his classical work on membrane structure and his model, the
Fluid Mosaic Membrane. He has been working as the David Burton
chair in cancer research and Professor and Chairman of the Department
of Tumor Biology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer
Center in Houston. Nancy Nicolson has a Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics
which involves the mastery of four scientific disciplines. Nancy
is the president of the Rhodon Foundation for biomedical research
in Kingwood, Texas. Garth has also been working as Professor
of Internal Medicine and Professor of Pathology and Laboratory
Medicine at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston.
Garth has published over 400 medical and scientific papers, edited
13 books and served on the Editorial Boards of 12 medical and
scientific journals and he is currently serving as the editor
of the Journal of Cellular Biochemistry and Clinical and Experimental
Metastasis. Nancy has published over 25 medical and scientific
papers. Both Nancy and Garth are in the process of being nominated
for a Nobel Prize for the development of nucleoprotein gene tracking
which is a technique that has been applied to the study of cancer
metastasis as well as HIV-1 infection and the invasive infections
associated with the veterans of Desert Storm. As will be discussed
the Nicolson's recently moved their research to Irvine, California
due to efforts by the U.S. government to destroy their research.
Current research
being done by Dr. Garth and Dr. Nancy Nicolson indicates that
much of the Gulf War Syndrome and in some cases what has been
known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is due to infection with
a mycoplasma (a microorganism which has characteristics of both
a bacteria and a virus and which lacks a cell wall) which has
been genetically manipulated or as Dr. Garth Nicolson states, "weaponized",
by inserting the HIV-1 envelope gene into the mycoplasma's genome.
Nancy Nicolson says insertion of this gene should render a relatively
benign microorganism pathogenic. The HIV-1 envelope gene encodes
glycoprotein 120 which recognizes receptors on the cell surface
of CD4 lymphocytes. In extreme cases the mycoplasma causes death.
The mycoplasma is a co-carcinogen. It is not uncommon for the
mycoplasma to infect the central nervous system. In severe cases
the mycoplasma infection causes brain inflammation, strokes,
and spinal meningitis. It has also apparently been implicated
in the explosion of patients' hearts. The Nicolson doctors have
found that the symptoms of CFS and GWS are very similar if not
identical. The CDC's (Centers for Disease Control, Atlanta) revised
case definition of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) was published
in the December 15, 1994 Annals of Internal Medicine. According
to this definition, in order for a diagnosis of CFS to be made
the patient must have had at least four of the following symptoms
for at least six months or more: "impairment in short-term memory
or concentration severe enough to cause substantial reduction
in previous levels of occupational, educational, social, or personal
activities, sore throat, tender lymph nodes, muscle pain, multijoint
pain without swelling or redness; headaches of a new type or
severity, unrefreshing sleep; and a post exertional malaise lasting
more than twenty-four hours." Also required was, "clinically
evaluated, unexplained persistent or relapsing fatigue that is
of a new or definite onset (has not been lifelong); is not the
result of ongoing exertion; is not substantially alleviated by
rest; and results in substantial reduction in previous levels
of occupational, educational, or social, or personal activities." Although
not all of the vets with GWS have the mycoplasma infection it
is the most common infection they have found during a pilot study.
The Nicolson's are working to determine the cause of illness
in the other veterans and they have found another organism, a
Brucella organism. Nancy says that approximately 380 plus veterans
have died from unusual cancers to the central nervous system
as of July 1994 according to classified Veterans Administration
central computer collected data which was given to the Nicolson's
by several anonymous individuals in Washington and elsewhere.
Nancy says these cancers most likely arose in previously healthy
vets due to exposure to potent chemical carcinogens and/or nerve
agents and/or biological agents.
There was a systematic
manipulation of the news regarding the Gulf War prior to and
during the Gulf War which continues after the War. In fact, manipulation
of the news, both TV news and major newspapers, is common in
this country although many Americans are unaware of this. Although
the TV news and mainstream media have refrained from telling
the American people the truth about the Gulf War Syndrome, the
October 1990 testimony of Nayirah, a 15-year-old Kuwaiti girl,
who testified to a public hearing of Congress's Human Rights
Caucus that she had witnessed Saddam's soldiers taking babies
out of incubators and leaving them to die on a hospital floor
was used on the October 10, 1990 NBC Nightly News and eventually
reached an audience of 35 million. President Bush frequently
mentioned her story as a reason for intervention. The incubator
story was a major factor in building public support for the war.
Several members of Congress said the testimony influenced their
votes to approve military action against Iraq. As many magazines
have reported, for example, The Washington Monthly (Sept./Oct.
`92) and TV Guide (Feb. 22, `92), the incubator story was concocted
by the PR firm Hill and Knowlton which started talking with the
Kuwaiti government in August of 1990, shortly after the invasion
of Kuwait by Iraq, about ways to create support in the U.S. for
strong military action against Iraq. These meetings led to the
creation of a front group, Citizens for a Free Kuwait, which
was financed almost entirely by the Kuwaiti government and which
paid Hill and Knowlton $11.5 million for the PR campaign. Soon
after the war ended Nayirah's story came into question. The Washington
Monthly reports (Sept. 12) that in March `91 ABC news interviewed
the Kuwaiti hospital officials who denied that Iraqi troops had
dumped any babies out of incubators, but that the biggest "bombshell" was
a story by Harper's magazine publisher John R. MacArthur that
appeared in January 1992 on the New York Times op-ed page. The
article revealed that Nayirah was the daughter of the Kuwaiti
ambassador to the United States. Further, Mac Arthur revealed
that representative Tom Lantos and John Edward Porter who sponsored
the congressional hearings had started a group called the Congressional
Human Rights Foundation that had received $50,000 from Citizens
for a Free Kuwait and free office space in Hill and Knowlton's
Washington headquarters.
In the TV guide
article, Morgan Strong writes that Nayirah's story was not the
only "occurrence of packaged war reporting broadcast in the heat
of war hysteria". He writes that during his long "stint" in Saudi
Arabia as a consultant for both PBS's Frontline and England's
Thames Television he found, "a far more systematic manipulation
of the news by a PR firm than is generally known." He states
that following the August 1990 invasion Hill and Knowlton selected
and coached refugees with stories about conditions in their country
that were most in line with the agenda of Hill and Knowlton's
client and made these refugees available to news organizations,
limiting journalists' ability to asses independently claims of
brutality. Strong states further, "Indeed, the PR firms operatives
were given free rein to travel unescorted throughout Saudi Arabia,
while journalists were severely restricted."
In June, 1996 Larry
Conners and Julius Hunter, anchors for the St. Louis channel
4 (CBS) 6 and 10pm news did a story on the local TV program,
Closer Look, about Gulf War Syndrome. They began with, "We begin
tonight with a mystery. What is causing the illness of more than
50,000 Gulf War Vets?" They then reported that in regard to the
Department of Defense, "The DOD says there is no mystery, no
so-called Gulf War Syndrome. Rather, the Pentagon says it is
a mixture of illnesses, some of which are just psychological." They
then interviewed Gulf War veteran Roger Parks and veteran Jim
Brown and his wife. They said that Parks, "like 10's of thousands
of others who returned from the Gulf, Parks suffers from chronic
fatigue, muscle and joint pain, and problems with balance." Parks
also has precancerous growths. Jim Brown of Hannibal, MO and
his wife were then interviewed. They were shown with their daughter
and their dog. Jim Brown is sick and unemployed. He says, "I
figured my country would stand behind me, that the people running
my country would stand behind me and it didn't turn out that
way." His wife, Michelle Brown, has some of the same symptoms
Jim has. Michelle says they don't plan to have anymore children
because they are too afraid because of the other couples (vets)
they know whose children have had birth defects. The cover of
the November, 1995 issue of Life Magazine is shown and Larry
Conners explains that the Brown's
concerns "have
become a reality" in Waynesboro, Mississippi where Gulf veterans
have had 15 children since the war and 13 of those children have
serious birth defects. Early in the 15 minute story on Gulf War
Syndrome they reported that, "as you are going to see tonight
new research shows that the army may be to blame. Could it be
that in an effort to keep our troops safe the army may have actually
made them sick?"
Later in their report
they say that "a study just released this month" shows that GWS
may be an adverse reaction to PB (Pyridostigmine Bromide) pills
the troops were ordered to take in combination with an insecticide
and a pesticide the troops used. (Nancy Nicolson says that as
long ago as the early 1970's studies were done by John M. Deutch
which indicate that PB pills alone can produce similar symptoms
to GWS.) Larry Connors says that the PB pills were a nerve gas
antidote. He then says that "a new study released from Duke University
just this month concludes that Gulf War Syndrome might be an
adverse reaction to a combination of chemicals." Connors says
that chickens were tested because they have similar neurological
pathways as humans. He says they were given the PB pill and exposed
to an insecticide and a pesticide also used by Gulf troops which
resulted in neurological problems in the chickens. They then
show Dr. Mohamed Abou-Donia at Duke University who says that
it was the combination of the PB pills and the insecticides and
pesticides which caused a problem. Dr. Abou-Donia does not explain
how Jim Brown's wife could have caught an illness caused by the
interaction of an anti-nerve gas pill and an insecticide and
a pesticide. The chemical combination theory does not explain
why many vets family members and even some pets have become ill.
Hunter and Connors point out that the "chemical combination theory
is only one theory and that another theory is that the troops
were exposed to chemical and/or biological warfare. They then
report that the Pentagon has maintained that there was no chemical
exposure in the Gulf but that Major General Ronald Blanck sent
a memorandum to the surgeon general which states, "clearly, chemical
warfare agents were detected and confirmed at very low levels" and
that, "...the presumption of their presence must be made." Hunter
and Conners do not report on the highly significant research
being done by the Nicolson doctors. However, they end the story
with Michelle Brown reading a written statement, "our loved ones
went over to Saudi as soldiers to protect and serve this great
country and what it was founded on. We remained at home supporting
them in their cause. The wounds they carried home have been passed
to family and friends. And now we are all soldiers fighting not
only to preserve our great country but to live. And the battle
remains. Only the enemy has changed.
Nancy Nicolson stresses
that Soviet War Doctrine was used in the war consisting of using
multiple agents to promote similar symptoms in order to confuse
the causal agents involved in the war and to inflict post-war
delayed casualties to disguise the use of biological warfare
agents and the ensuant contagion. Nancy and Garth Nicolson have
been on TV in Australia and they have been on BBC in Britain
where the story is not being covered up to the same degree as
in the United States although it is being censored to some degree
in these countries. The Nicolson doctors have also been on TV
in Italy because as they explain, the Vatican is very concerned
about this, particularly the Pope who wrote that certain acts
are inherently evil and that this is one of them and who spoke
out on our "death oriented" society. However, there has been
a gag order and press black out of the Nicolson's research in
this country. Although the Nicolsons' research on GWS has been
published in the Journal of the American Medical Association
(February 22, 1995, vol. 273, no. 800), the International Journal
of Occupational Medicine and Toxicology (vol. 4, No. 3, 1995),
Extraordinary Science in Press (1995), the Journal of Occupational
Medicine, Immunology, and Toxicology (vol. 5, No. 1, 1996), and
Townshend's Letter for Doctors and Patients (May, 1996) as well
as the CFIDS Chronicle ((3): 66-69 (1996) the major/controlled
media has not shared their research with the American people
and the Nicolson's have been subjected to undue harassment by
the U.S. intelligence sector as well as CIA "plants" in the scientific
community. This writer has learned that the Nicolson's have also
recently published articles the International Journal of Occupational
Medicine, Immunology, and Toxicology 5: 83-86 (1996), Medicine
Conflict & Survival 12: 260-262 (1996), and Medicine Conflict & Survival
in press (1997).
In their article
in Townshend's Letter the Nicolson's report that, "even Major
General Ronald Blanck, commanding officer of Walter Reed Army
Medical Center in Washington, D.C., agrees that GWS `symptoms
list fit a CFIDS-like illness'." In the same article the Nicolson's
report that approximately 50-100,000 Desert Shield/Storm veterans,
and in some cases immediate family members, who are experiencing
chronic illness, share similar although unique sets of signs
and symptoms. They report that in their study of 650 Gulf War
vets with Gulf War Syndrome the signs and symptoms of GWS almost
exactly fit the profile for Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction
Syndrome as reported in the CFIDS literature. See figure 2. CFIDS
is the term independent researchers have chosen to use for the
illness the government (the CDC) has termed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
(CFS). Dr. Garth Nicolson states that the only exception was
light sensitivity and that as a symptom photosensitivity was
not reported as a common complaint at as high a frequency for
the vets as the CFIDS patients but that this may be due to the
way data was gathered on the GWS patients. He says that when
they went back and re-analyzed their data they found that the
incidence of this symptom was actually higher than they had initially
reported. They conclude that GWS is probably not a new syndrome
and that they believe it is a CFIDS-like disorder. Nancy Nicolson
stresses that the vets were exposed to biological warfare agents...microorganisms
that were weaponized.
An article titled, "Mycoplasmsal
Infections--Diagnosis and Treatment in GWS/CFIDS patients--" by
the Nicolson doctors appeared in summer 1996 issue of The CFIDS
Chronicle, a quarterly publication of the Chronic Fatigue and
Immune Dysfunction Syndrome Association of America. The Nicolson's
write that, "Although the concept of a distinct syndrome linked
to the Persian Gulf has been advanced, it has not been proven,
and we prefer to use the term GWI instead of Gulf War Syndrome." GWI
stands for Gulf War Illness. Further, they write, "Based on the
symptom pattern of CFIDS, we feel that the most appropriate syndrome
that characterizes GWI is CFIDS, and that this type of GWI/CFIDS
is apparently being transmitted to close family members." The
Nicolson's explain that, "Several hypotheses have been advanced
to explain the pathophysiological origins of CFIDS, but the model
of Cheney is particularly useful in discussing the complex, multi-organ
signs and symptoms of CFIDS. In this model, the syndrome is initiated
by immune activation and the stimulated release of interferons
and cytokines that cause neurotoxicity and other systemic effects.
We have proposed that GWI/CFIDS may be initiated by host responses
to chronic infectious agents resulting in interferon and cytokine
production." In regard to the source of the Gulf veterans GWI/CFIDS
they write, "There were a number of potential sources of chronic
infectious agents in the Persian Gulf theater of operations,
including the vaccines that were used to immunize the soldiers,
endogenous infectious agents in the Persian Gulf, blow-back of
chemical-biological warfare (CBW) agents from the bombing of
CBW factories and supply depots (see page 5 --editor), and offensive
Iraqi CBW weapons mounted on SCUD missiles and other projectiles.
Of these, we consider the most likely sources of potential chronic
infectious agents to be the vaccines and Iraqi offensive CBW
weapons---some of which were originally purchased from U.S. companies
and transferred to Iraq with U.S. Commerce Department approvals.
We have concluded that, in addition to the signs and symptoms,
the causes of GWI/CFIDS are also complex, and as a disease it
is probably caused by several types of agents or conditions." (underlining
and bold print added)
The Nicolsons note
that mycoplasma contamination is not uncommon in commercial vaccines.
As has been stated, although the mycoplasma infection is the
most common infection the veterans have it is not the only infection
veterans have and the Nicolson's are working to identify other
infections present in the veterans. The Nicolson's were told
that Soviet War Doctrine was used in the Gulf War and that this
involves using many different agents to confuse the diagnostic
and treatment process. According to Joyce Riley, when the Scud
B missiles were sent over and were intercepted by our Patriot
Missiles it rained down germ warfare on our troops in the form
of a greasy filmy substance.
According to statements
Dr. Garth Nicolson made during a presentation, Nicolson says
the Gulf War was the first time in history that shot records
were not kept on the troops and one whole unit was threatened
that they would be shot if they didn't take their shots. McAlvany
reports that based on numerous conversations with Gulf War vets
Joyce Riley has concluded that approximately 70% of their medical
records are missing. Dr. Nancy Nicolson says contacts in Central
Command under Schwarzkopf and multiple high level operatives
from domestic and foreign intelligence have told she and Garth
the Gulf War veterans' medical records were in the Murrah Federal
Building in Oklahoma City before it was bombed.
On February 9, 1994
Senator Donald W. Riegle, Jr., took to the Senate floor and reported
that, "Records available from the supplier for the period from
1985 until the present show that during this period, pathogenic,
meaning "poisonous" and other materials, were exported to Iraq
pursuant to application and licensing by the U.S. Department
of Commerce. Records prior to 1985 were not available, according
to the supplier. These exported materials were not attenuated
or weakened and were capable of reproduction. Thus, from at least
1985 through 1989, the United States government approved the
sale of quantities of potentially lethal biological agents that
could have been cultured or grown in large quantities in an Iraqi
biological warfare program." Senator Riegle continued, "I find
it especially troubling that, according to the supplier's records,
these materials were requested by and sent to Iraqi government
agencies including the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission, the Iraq
Ministry of Higher Education, the State Company for Drug Industries,
and the Ministry of Trade. While there may be legitimate needs
for pathogens in medical research, closer scrutiny should be
exercised in approving exports of materials to countries known
or suspected of having active and aggressive biological warfare
programs. Iraq has long been suspected of conducting biological
warfare research, in addition to it's chemical and nuclear warfare
research programs." Senator Riegle then provided a lengthy list
of the biologicals, the dates of shipment, and the Iraqi agencies
they were shipped to. Examples of a few of the biologicals that
were shipped to Iraq include Bacillus Anthracis, Clostridium
Botulinum, and Brucella Melitensis. In an article on Gulf War
Syndrome in the May 1994 issue of Gentlemen's Quarterly, the
above information is reported. Specifically, it is reported that, "records
show that from 1985 to 1989, the U.S. government issued seventeen
export licenses for potentially lethal biological agents that
were sent to Iraq. The American Type Culture Collection, a nonprofit
organization in Rockville, Maryland, and the federal government's
own Center's for Disease Control, in Atlanta, were responsible
for most of the shipments, according to Riegle's investigation." (bold
print and underlining added) Because the Iraqi's possessed many
different biological agents which could have been used as biological
warfare the Gulf War Illness likely consists of several different
illnesses. Senator Riegle only had access to the declassified
records.
However, Dr. Garth
and Dr. Nancy Nicolson testified before the Committee on Government
Reform and Oversight, Subcommittee on Human Resources and Government
Intergovernmental Relations, United States Houses of Representatives
on April 2, 1996 that the, "most common infection found in our
studies thus far was an unusual microoganism, Mycoplasma fermentans
(incognitus strain), in the blood of GWS patients." They also
stated that, "When we studied 650 veterans of Operation Desert
Storm and their immediate family members who suffer from GWS,
we found that they have multiple chronic signs and symptoms that
are almost identical to myalgic encepthalomyelitis (ME) or Chronic
Fatigue-Immune Dysfunction (CFIDS)." ME is the term used for
CFS by Australian, Canadian, and British researchers. Although
the CDC named the illness CFS in the United States, independent
researchers have preferred to refer to it as CFIDS. The Nicolsons
conclude their testimony, "We believe Congress holds the key
to the solution of GWS. This and associated disorders (CFIDS)
must be studied using the peer-reviewed grant award system, such
as that used by the NIH. GWS cannot be left to the Department
of Defense or the Department of Veterans Affairs, because they
have not shown themselves to be especially responsive to the
health problems of our Gulf War veterans." (underling and bold
print added).
Although there was
no television coverage regarding the testimony of the Nicolson
doctors, on May 24 at 6 pm channel 9 (PBS) in St. Louis aired
a short story on GWS on News Hour With Jim Lehrer which showed
Senator Rockefellor pointing to the Pyridostigmine Bromide (BP)
pills the troops took as the cause of the Gulf War vets' illness.
Reference was made to the research mentioned previously that
is being done with chickens. Dr. Abou-Donia was shown at Duke
University and he said that the chickens have the same reaction
to the PB pills as the Gulf War vets, becoming lethargic and
hardly moving. It is not hard to believe that chickens may react
this way to the PB pills. But, this does not show that GWS is
caused by unaltered PB pills taken by the vets during the Gulf
War. In many cases GWS has been contagious with family members
and pets becoming sick. (Although this writer can not locate
the specific issue, she recalls reading in an issue of the CFIDS
Chronicle that Dr. Paul Cheney has noted that patients' pets
have gotten sick and in some cases have died.) Senator Rockefeller
was again on television the end of September or the beginning
of October of 1996. He appeared on the second story done on Gulf
War Syndrome by 60 Minutes. It was reported that studies had
been done at the University of Maryland (which has been involved
in biological warfare research including experimenting with mycoplasma)
many years ago which showed that PB pills can cause many of the
symptoms of GWS, but the reporter noted that normally those reactions
to the pills are not long lasting. With no basis for making this
statement he then said that maybe in some cases the effects actually
are long-term (causing GWS). Senator Rockefeller again blamed
the PB pills and blasted the DOD. He acted like he was concerned
about the veterans. Unfortunately, it seems that Rockefeller's
statements on 60 Minutes were simply another part of the cover-up
disguised as concern for the victims of very evil deeds. Based
on the Nicolson's research, if the PB pill did cause some of
the GWS it seems that they did so because some (probably not
all of them) were altered, meaning intentionally contaminated
with infectious organisms. It seems that some of the vaccines
the soldiers were given were contaminated in a similar manner.
In March of this
year a 700 page book, Osler's Web: Inside the Labyrinth of the
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Epidemic, by Hillary Johnson was released.
In this book Johnson chronicles the research on CFS during the
last ten years. Johnson reports on the politics, the scientific
findings, and the extraordinary failure of our institutions,
mainly, the NIH and the CDC to protect the public health from
this extremely debilitating infectious disease which has been
shown to attack the immune system and the brain. CFS is now many
times more widespread than polio was in the early 1950's and
is estimated to afflict two million Americans. Johnson reports
that due to the neglect of our federal agencies, most of the
significant research on CFS has been left up to independent researchers
who are often "politically assassinated" for their work. The
same has been true regarding Gulf War Syndrome.
The Nicolson doctors
have detected infectious DNA sequences peculiar to the microorganism,
Mycoplasma fermentans
(incognitus strain) deep inside the white blood cells in the
nucleus of the cells of patients with GWS/CFIDS. However, not
every Desert Storm veteran has the same type of mycoplasma gene
sequences inside their cells. The majority of the mycoplasma
gene sequences observed were homologous to and variants of Mycoplasma
fermentans (incognitus strain). Some of the GWS/CFIDS patients
test positive for other mycoplasmas such as Mycoplasma penetrans
or Mycoplasma genitalium. The mycoplasma being found in the GWI/CFIDS
patients proliferates inside cells rather than intercellularly
and in this respect differs from the usual mycoplasma. Also,
it does not cross-react with tests for any of the 20 plus known
mycoplasmas and routine lab tests do not detect this infection.
The Nicolson doctors used polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and
Gene Tracking to detect DNA sequences peculiar to the mycoplasma.
This mycoplasma also differs from the usual mycoplasma in that
the HIV-1 envelope gene has been inserted into it. The HIV-1
envelope gene encodes for a protein, GP 120, a component on the
exterior of the AIDS virus which renders the mycoplasma invasive
enabling it to bind to the CD4 receptor on lymphocytes (a type
of white blood cell) and other cells so that the mycoplasma can
go all over the body were you normally wouldn't see it into various
tissues causing the symptoms of GWS/CFS, for example, joint pain.
The Nicolson doctors
have found that this infection can be successfully treated with
the antibiotic Doxycycline (as well as Minocycline, Ciprofloxan,
and Azithromycin). Penicillin exacerbates the disease. Patients
require multiple six week cycles on the antibiotic therapy and
the Nicolson's believe this is because the infection is inside
the cell. Two week intervals off of the antibiotic between cycles
are recommended to prevent resistance to the drug as well as
to give the body a break from the use of antibiotics. Patients
can expect their symptoms to be more noticeable between cycles
of therapy. However, this increase in symptom severity diminishes
after each cycle. The therapy is not a cure. It helps put the
mycoplasma infection into remission. Patients sometimes still
feel some of the symptoms although to a lesser degree. Relapses
can occur, especially after the body is stressed. Dr. Garth Nicolson
reports that they have retested patients' blood after they have
recovered on antibiotic therapy and been unable to detect the
mycoplasma. However, Dr. Garth Nicolson believes that you likely
never completely get rid of this infection and that you can think
of it like TB. He suspects that there is still some of the organism
left in the tissues. However, with antibiotic therapy most patients
recover to the point where their own immune system is keeping
the infection "in check " and can live a fairly normal life.
Some people who have the mycoplasma infection also have severe
multiple chemical sensitivities and have difficulty taking the
antibiotics. However, the Nicolson's are finding ways to work
around that problem. Dr. Garth Nicolson categorizes this mycoplasma
infection as being moderately contagious meaning that in most
cases it requires prolonged close contact such as living with
someone to catch this illness. The illness has a long incubation
period which can range from months to years and it can be passed
to unborn children. Also, the mycoplasma eventually enters every
cell in the body. It can potentially alter cellular DNA which
can lead to birth defects. Dr. Garth Nicolson says that once
someone recovers from this illness he doesn't think they would
be contagious.
In an article published
in the International Journal of Occupational Medicine, Immunology,
and Toxicology, vol. 5, No. 1, 1996 the Nicolson's report that in a
study of 30 Gulf War vets and family members with Gulf War Illness
14 were mycoplasma-positive. They conclude that the, "remaining
patients could have other chronic infections". Further, they
report, "at least some of the CFIDS patients who did not serve
in the Persian Gulf during ODS may have treatable mycoplasmic
infections. We have begun to examine this possibility, and our
initial findings are that a subset of CFIDS patients with no
relationship to ODS have mycoplasmal infections and respond ,
similarly to the mycoplasma-positive GWI-CFIDS patients, to antibiotics
such as Doxycyline (unpublished findings)." They end, "We currently
are developing additional diagnostic tests (polymerase chain
reaction), to detect the presence of different species of invasive
mycoplasmas that could be used to aid physicians in the diagnosis
and treatment of veterans with GWI-CFIDS and civilians with CFIDS.
We hope to extend this to a blinded crossover controlled treatment
trail involving two antibiotics and placebo to determine the
effectiveness of antibiotics in the treatment of GWI-CFIDS."
What is most shocking
regarding the mycoplasma that has the HIV-1 envelope gene inserted
into it is that it seems it was created by a Houston company.
In 1987 while Dr. Nancy Nicolson was an instructor in the Department
of Immunolgy and Microbiology at the Baylor College of Medicine
she became extremely ill. Doctors could not explain her illness.
After seeing an article in the New York Times called "Mycoplasma
Incognitus" which listed all of her symptoms, Nancy called the
author, Dr. Shyh Lo, at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology
in Washington. He tested her and said she had it. (He later denied
this.) He never told her he had worked offsite in her own department
at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Nancy now believes
this is where she was deliberately infected with the mycoplasma
because she patently refused to use her research abilities to
work on biological weapons and spoke out against germ warfare.
Nancy had a severe case of this illness. She was partially paralyzed,
her thyroid was affected, and she had meningitis. She recalls
that she had a near-death experience "which people can mock" in
which she was told that she wasn't going to die but that she
had to promise that when she got better if she ever heard of
someone else in the future who was sick she had to speak out
even if it meant putting herself open to danger and ridicule.
She says that she tries to keep that word. Nancy found that Doxycycline,
an antibiotic, helped her to regain her health. At the time of
her illness Nancy's department had been doing research on mycoplasmas.
She now believes that she was deliberately infected with one
of these because she has the ability to uncover what others are
trying to hide. As was discussed, Nancy has a cross-disciplinary
Ph.D. in molecular biophysics which involves mastery of four
disciplines and she and Garth have employed the method of nucleoprotein
gene tracking which they originally developed to study cancer
cells (and for which they are in the process of being nominated
for a Nobel Prize) in their research on Gulf War Syndrome. Nancy
says that because of her specialized training she had to sign
papers after completing her training agreeing not to take her
talents to a hostile government.
In 1991, about six
months after returning from military service in the Gulf War,
Garth Nicolson's daughter from a previous marriage began suffering
similar symptoms to those Nancy had suffered including chronic
fatigue, aching joints, diarrhea, vomiting, and fevers. It sounded
like a mycoplasma infection to Garth and at his suggestion she
began trying Doxycycline which helped her to regain her health.
She began passing the word to her military friends who then tried
Doxycyline. The Nicolson's later contacted 73 of the veterans
and 55 reported an improvement in health. Nancy Nicolson explains
that a lot of the people who were sick were high-level government
operatives and that when they started helping them and their
families these specialists started talking. Nancy says that as
their "intelligence sources" began filling them in she became
a less than cooperative member of the Baylor faculty and that
she was fired in 1991 because she wouldn't go along with germ
warfare.
By this time Garth
Nicolson had learned of a "mystery illness" spreading among the
employees of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Huntsville,
Texas. Using gene tracking the Nicolson's found these employees
to be positive for the mycoplasma infection. With the help of
their intelligence sources the Nicolson's concluded that the
biological weapon was created by Tanox Biosystems on Stella Link
in Houston, a company with close ties to Baylor and that it was
tested on inmates at the Walls Unit in Huntsville, Texas beginning
in 1983. Garth says such testing was done in a series of prisons
including prisons in Palestine, Texas and Victoria, Texas as
well as in Kansas and South Carolina. Garth says the prisoners
were supposedly being given flu vaccines. He says the "vaccine
testing" was part of U.S. Army sponsored programs run by biotechnology
firms. The inmates in Huntsville then started spreading it to
the guards who then gave it to family members and others in the
general population resulting in various diagnoses being given
including CFS, Lou Gehrig's disease, MS, Guillian Barre Syndrome,
etc. Also with the help of their intelligence sources the Nicolsons
concluded that the biological weapon was sold to Saddam Hussein.
Garth says that many of the inmates in Huntsville died. He says
their records were destroyed and their bodies were burned. Garth
says that they found much more variability in the genes in the
mycoplasma when they tested those associated with the prison
in Huntsville than when they tested the Gulf War vets. He says
it appears that they were testing different types of mycoplasma
in the prison to find out what would be the most effective for
their purposes. Garth says that many people where furious with
him for what he found in Huntsville including Dr. Charles LeMaistre,
a friend of George Bush's and the past president of M.D. Anderson,
Dr. Edward Young, Chief of the VA in Houston, and Dr. Robert
M. Couch, Head of the Baylor Influenza Program, because it pointed
to illegal testing. A massive cover-up was underway, in part
because George Bush and Jim Baker were Tanox investors. Nancy
Nicolson says that she is certain their research efforts are
being stifled due to business links that current or former high
level government officials including former President George
Bush, former Secretary of State, James A. Baker III, and current
CIA Director John Deutch have with U.S. firms that have developed
